Southern Dooky Snowmen

Southern Dooky Snowmen

Man, I just got done looking over some of my recent posts. I’ve posted a lot of heavy, serious stuff lately, what’s up with that? I’m not always this serious, it’s just where my head’s been lately I guess. I’m actually very sarcastic and have been known to be a bit witty sometimes, but unfortunately sarcasm doesn’t translate well in writing… at least my writing.

Anywho, we had a Southern Blizzard (a.k.a. cold rain) hit South Carolina today. Our public schools let all the kids out by 12:30 today, no joke. No accumulation, zip, zero, nada. I think we had a solid 4 minute stretch there where it was flurrying up a storm, but after that, just rain. Gotta love the south. You northerners have snow days… apparently we now have rain days. Awesome. As if we needed another reason to have some of the dumbest schools in the country.

But you really should see the panic that ensues when we actually do have an accumulation of snow. There is literally a run on bread and milk. It’s gone before you can say “stupid meteorologist”. Oh, and have you ever seen a southern snowman? It’s part snow, part grass, part mud and the rest is dooky… dog, cat, chicken, possum… whatever lives in your yard, it’s in there and it really is a wonder to behold.

Check out some of these southern beauties:

Wow, talk about a weird transition from the last few posts! Haha. Got any snowman pictures or southern blizzard stories to share?
