How He Loves

How He Loves

Every once in awhile I love to go to iTunes and check out new Christian artists and catch up on some old ones that God’s used in my life in the past. I stumbled on the David Crowder Band tonight… don’t know them well, but this promo shot from their newest album literally made me laugh out loud. It reminded me of so many scenes I’ve dreamt of over the years… Christian music (or CCM as some refer to it) meets ‘fundamentalism’. If you haven’t grown up in the same circles I have, this post will mean nothing to you and that’s ok, in fact, it’s probably best you don’t understand. ;-) All that aside, this is an amazing song and just what I needed this evening.

“How He Loves”
David Crowder Band

He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He is jealous for me, Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If his grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

That He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.

Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
